Politics: A Disciple's Perspective
Part 1 - Whose side are you on?
There’s obviously a huge divide right now between liberal/progressive policy and conservative/traditional policy. Some of this huge divide is based on people’s opinion regarding policy and some is based on personal feelings towards the specific politician.
Some people consider themself a staunch democrat or a staunch republican. Some may not live-and-die according to their political party, but they definitely believe in the ideology of a particular party over the others. Most of us could identify ourselves with the political party closest to our own beliefs whether it be socialist (Bernie Sanders), progressive/liberal/democrat (President Biden/Vice President Harris), traditional/conservative/republican (President Trump/Vice President Pence), Libertarian (Ron Paul, Rand Paul), or anarchist. Quick...off the top of your head, which do you most associate with?
Part 2 - Politics and Christianity
According to Barna Group, only 3% of Christians would be willing to vote socialist. Click here to read the article.
According to the Pew Research Center, in 2019 Christians made up 52% of the Democratic Party and 79% of the Republican Party. Click here to read the article.
According to the PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute), Christians make up 64% of the Libertarian Party. Click here to read the article.
According to Wikipedia, anarchists are generally non-religious. Click here to see the article.
Summary: Percentage being Christian -
Republicans 79%
Libertarians 64%
Democrats 52%
Socialists (very low)
Anarchists (very low)
An assumption might be made that the political party with the most Christians in it would promote policies that are most in-line with the Word. This may be true, but first two things must happen. We need to know what the Word says about the issues and then we must be willing to put God’s will over our own will. If either one of these things aren’t done, it really doesn’t matter how God feels about a topic because we’d just be voting according to our own will. This obviously isn’t the thought process of a disciple.
Let’s look at some political issues and how they relate to God’s will.
Part 3 - Abortion
There is an entire discussion about abortion and how it relates to God that can be found under “Teachings.” Here is a summary.
God knows us before we are conceived. He is who forms us in our mother’s belly. I knew you before I formed you in the belly, even before you came out of the womb, I consecrated you. I gave you to be a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5)(KJ3).
God allows the Holy Spirit to enter a baby still in the womb. For he shall be great in the eyes of the Lord, and he shall not drink wine or intoxicating drink. And he will be filled of the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15)(KJ3).
God shows us that babies in the womb can have emotions. For behold, as the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped in exultation (Luke 1:44)(KJ3).
God already has a life planned for each of us, even as we are still developing in the womb. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16)(NIV).
In the Old Testament the false Gods of Baal and Molek are mentioned. The demons behind these false Gods pushed people to kill their children. God gives his opinion on the matter. Not only does he plan on punishing those who kill their children, but also the people who ignore the fact that such things are occurring. “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. I Myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled My sanctuary and profaned My holy name. If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death, I Myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek (Leviticus 20:2-5)(NIV).
Disciples are aware of demons and how they operate. We are aware that the same demons operating in the Old Testament are still around today. They may be the same demons promoting Planned Parenthood and abortion.
Go to abortionno.org and watch the first video that pops up. Do you feel conviction? If not, the Holy Spirit may not be talking to you. If He isn’t, be concerned.
Disciples know we are part of Jesus’ kingdom, not part of His socially woke democracy. “Pro-choice” doesn’t have any credential under a king. If someone chooses to make their own choice over the will of the king, that person can be killed or cast out of the kingdom. If we want to be a disciple of His, we must be obedient to His Word.

Part 4 - LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer (questioning))
There is an entire discussion about homosexuality and how it relates to God that can be found under “Teachings.” Here is a summary.
Many LGBTQ people put love as the top priority in the world. They think everything is acceptable as long as it’s backed with love. Yes, love is the top priority...towards GOD. We show our love for Him by being obedient to Him. Loving each other comes secondary and is the natural by-product of being obedient to God.
There is no confusion as to what God thinks about LGBTQ. Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor boy-abusers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor rapacious ones shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)(KJ3).
This doesn’t only go for the people practicing such things, but for the people approving them also! Who having known the ordinance of God, that the ones practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve the ones practicing them (Romans 1:32)(KJ3)
Disciples, always striving to be obedient to the Lord, cannot support policies that are pro-LGBTQ. Again, Jesus runs a kingdom, not a socially woke democracy. He’s the king. He can only really be our “Lord” if we allow Him to lord over us.
This may seem unloving towards the LGBTQ community because there doesn’t seem to be an answer to their problems. What’s truly unloving is the church not teaching people the power and authority they have over demons. The most loving thing to do is open the spiritual eyes of the LGBTQ community by teaching them about demons, while having no judgement towards them whatsoever. If/when they develop a repentant heart, those demons can be casted out. Their perverse cravings can simply be removed forever. ....the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly ones, but powerful ones to God to the demolition of strongholds, demolishing reasonings and every high thing lifting up itself against the knowledge of God… (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)(KJ3)
Part 5 - Feminism
There is an entire discussion about family peace, which includes feminism, and how it relates to God that can be found under “Teachings.” Here is a summary.
The term “Women’s rights” isn’t a bad thing. What is bad is when the power and authority that God has given to men is taken over by women. ...do not become foolish, but understanding what the will of the Lord is...subjecting ourselves to one another in the fear of God. Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord, because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the Assembly, and He is Saviour of the body. But even as the Assembly is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Assembly and gave Himself up on her behalf, that He might sanctify her, cleansing it by the bathing of the water in the Word, that He might present her to Himself as the glorious Assembly, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that she be holy and without blemish. So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, the one loving his wife loves himself, for then no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes her, even as also the Lord the Assembly (Ephesians 5:17-29).
God’s will in a nutshell…
-
Jesus submits to God the Father.
-
The assembly (church) submits to Jesus.
-
The husband submits to Jesus.
-
The wife submits to the husband.
The above is a hard pill to swallow for feminists. It coincides with the fact that women were made to be helpers for men. And Jehovah God said, It is not good, the man being alone. I will make a helper corresponding to him (Genesis 2:18)(KJ3). God makes it clear as to who was made for who. For also man was not created for the sake of the woman, but woman for the sake of the man (1 Corinthians 11:9).
You female disciples, if you really want to please God you will have a gentle and quiet spirit. You won’t want to dominate over your husband, but will actually desire to submit to him and will find peace and joy in it. ...you wives, be subject to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the Word, they may be won over without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your pure and respectful behavior. Your adornment must not be merely the external - braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or putting on apparel, but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. For in this way the holy women of former times, who hoped in God, also used to adorn themselves, being subject to their own husbands, just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; and you have proved to be her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear (1 Peter 3:1-6)(NIV).
God tells us that a woman’s priority should be the home. ...aged women likewise in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not having been enslaved by much wine, teachers of good, that they might train the young women to be lovers of husbands, child-lovers, sensible, chase, home-keepers, good, subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of God may not be blasphemed... (Titus 2:3-5)(KJ3).
Feminism isn’t always bad, but the good is often bundled with an underlying spirit that pushes beyond what is good in God’s eyes. God’s will is for a wife to be submissive to her husband with a quiet and gentle heart and for the wife to be the primary home-keeper. Political policy that directly or indirectly counters this is against God’s will. Again, God runs a kingdom, not a socially woke democracy. If He is really our “Lord,” we will allow Him to lord over us.
Part 6 - Government control and the end times
The end times are inevitable. It’s believed by many that for the end times to be fulfilled the government must establish more control over the people, particularly in free countries such as the U.S.A. For this reason, there is an undercurrent of distrust towards the government and politicians by many Christians and certainly many disciples who know what scripture says about the end times. Distrust continues to grow as more policies are established that appear to be against God’s will, while at the same time giving the government more control.
During the end times there will be something the bible calls “the beast”...It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation (Revelation 13:7)(NIV). The beast is going to wage war against God’s people. It will be given authority over people. How does someone get authority over people if not through government? How does someone get authority over ALL people if not through a one-world government? A common catch phrase regarding this is “the new world order.”
During the end times the beast will try to force everyone to take his mark. This will symbolize submission to him. To help enforce the taking of this mark, people won’t be able to buy or sell things without it. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name (Revelation 13:16-17)(NIV).
Here’s an example of government control. Currently a politician out of Ohio is trying to prevent stimulus checks from being sent to people who don’t take the Covid vaccine. Bill Gates Sr. was on the board of Planned Parenthood. Bill Gates Jr. is also pro-abortion, pro-polulation control...and pro-vaccine. Hmmm, wonder why? Watch this video, especially starting around 4:00. As methods of world-wide population control, he suggests “new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services” What he’s saying is through new vaccines, health care (somehow), and abortions, we can reduce population growth.
Is there really an organized illuminate that controls the world? Maybe not. But does the devil have the power and savvy to control people and governments without them even knowing he’s playing them like a puppet? Absolutely. Courtesy of the devil, there IS an organized, spiritually led attack on Christians.
Non-believers have no concern about the end times. It’s not a “thing” to them. Christians can often get nervous about it when discussed in-depth. Disciples don’t get too worked up over it. Disciples stay focused on the Lord and doggedly continue to enforce His will by walking in the power and authority He has given them. Disciples will recognize fear, worry, anger, etc. when they appear. These feelings/demons will quickly be dealt with in ways disciples know how. Peace will continue to rule the disciple’s day.
Part 7 - A disciple’s political party
A disciple stays focused on the Lord, but isn’t ignorant of what’s happening in the world. A disciple doesn’t get caught up in the cares and worries of this world. We AREN”T justified to, regardless of how bad things get. Like good soldiers, we doggedly carry on with our Lord’s wishes. You, therefore, suffer hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one serving as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of this life, so that he might please the One having enlisted him (2 Timothy 2:3-4)(KJ3). Of course, this will be very hard if we are ignorant of the full gospel. Practicing the full gospel is the key to not getting caught up in the world’s affairs and struggles. Disciples have a purpose - enforcing our Lord’s will on earth and making more disciples so they can do the same thing. The world can be in full chaos, but disciples will be singly focused on enforcing God’s will here on earth. By keeping our nose to the grindstone, we won’t be distracted.
It’s very easy to get caught up in political drama. As we start moving our focus to politics and the drama that surrounds it, we start getting sucked into the world. We then are no longer looking at the world through spiritual eyes.
Of course, disciples can vote and speak their mind, but when emotions and frustrations come knocking on our door we must catch ourselves. At that moment, we need to step back from the drama and resume our focus on the Lord. The emotions and frustrations that surround political drama are gateways for demonic influence into our lives. We can do what we are able to do, but then we must let go of what we can’t control.
A warrior angel of God appeared to Joshua. This angel was NOT a victim of the devil’s confusion or deception. And it happened, when Joshua was beside Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked. And, behold! A man stood in front of him, and his drawn sword was in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, Are you for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, No, for I now come as the commander of the army of Jehovah. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped… (Joshua 5:13-14) The angel wasn’t falling for any worldly drama. Nope, his face was set on the will of the Lord. Powerful disciples are cut from the same cloth.
